The venue for our new Summer League race on Wednesday, April 15th
off the A617 near Bilsthorpe.
The start and car parking is at Hexgreave Hall, (see map attached) NG22 8LS, Grid ref SK6547058402
The course is 5.1 miles in length and is made up of minor roads, a section of the Southwell trail
(disused railway line), some dirt trails and short grass. It is classified as a trail race rather than road,
so please bear this in mind when choosing footwear. However, no part of the route is any more
difficult underfoot than the off-road sections at the previous Epperstone race, there’s just more of it.
We race here with the kind permission of Tony Strawson, the owner of Hexgreave, and the park
is home to his family and many other people, so please respect the facilities at the hall and car
park together with the area surrounding the route. It goes without saying that we must use only
the toilets provided at the hall rather than the rustic facilities of the gardens and parkland. Please
ensure you take all litter home with you too please.
As the area is private, no pre-race course recces are permitted. It’s a cracking route in lovely part of
Nottinghamshire so come along and enjoy it on the 15th
