For the first time ever he had to race a heat in the same day to qualify for the final and will now look to further improve his times and standings throughout the summer.
Three of Mansfield’s talented juniors represented the county in the Inter County Cross Country Championships at Prestwold Hall near Loughborough. In the Under 13 boys race coming out the back of the pen Henry Bullough had the race of his life to place 85th and in doing so beat for the first time several of his peers. Not to be outdone in the Under 13 girls race Olivia Barrett was a superb 115th place with still another year in the age group. Barrett also came out of the back of the pen and like Bullough finished in front of several competitors for the first time. Both were second athletes back for the county out of a team of 8. Katie Lancaster was the third athlete competing racing for Derbyshire in the Under 17 ladies placing 238th.
